Preparation
Swab the infected area from margin to margin in a 10-point zigzag fashion. Use enough pressure to express fluid from within the tissue. Insert the swab all the way to the bottom of the tube that has a liquid medium. Holding the end of the swab shaft, bend it to break at the marked breakpoint. Label the tube with patient's identifiers and date/time of collection.
